Becoming a certified Alexander Technique teacher

Interested in becoming a teacher of the Alexander Technique?

CANSTAT-approved teacher training programs are the only ones in Canada that meet the highest standards for teacher training worldwide shared by the Alexander Technique Affiliated professional Societies (ATAS).

Teacher Training Programs

There are three schools in Canada that meet CANSTAT and ATAS teacher-training requirements.  These requirements include 1,600 hours of training over a minimum of three years, and a teacher/student ratio of one to five. Students who satisfactorily complete the course requirements in these schools are eligible for CANSTAT membership as teachers of the Alexander Technique, and are recognized worldwide as part of the Alexander Technique Affiliated Societies.

*Most schools require that you have private lessons with an accredited teacher before you are admitted.  Please ensure you contact each school to find out what their requirements are, or get in touch with CANSTAT for more information.
